Project description
The consultancy supported the assessment of Loss and Damage considerations within the framework of Peru’s National Adaptation Plan, with the objective of identifying existing gaps and strengthening institutional capacities for addressing climate-related loss and damage. The work sought to improve the integration of Loss and Damage into national adaptation processes and enhance understanding among key stakeholders.
The project included the identification and engagement of relevant stakeholders, the assessment of existing institutional and policy frameworks, and the preparation of an analytical report based on information gathering and triangulation processes. The analysis focused on identifying gaps, challenges and opportunities related to the incorporation of Loss and Damage into adaptation planning.
In addition, the consultancy designed and delivered a capacity-building programme on Loss and Damage, including a series of sectoral training workshops aimed at strengthening institutional knowledge and technical capacities. The project concluded with the preparation of a final report summarising the assessment findings, training outcomes and recommendations for future action.
