Project description
The project consisted of the development of analytical and modelling tools for the Spanish Secretariat of State for Trade to support the assessment of the economic and commercial impacts of international shocks on the Spanish economy, particularly those arising from trade policy measures adopted by the European Union or third countries.
The work included the development and adaptation of partial equilibrium simulation tools to estimate the potential effects of trade policy measures on affected Spanish products. In addition, the project developed complementary modelling capabilities to analyse the broader impacts of trade policy measures on directly and indirectly affected economic sectors, other international economies and the Spanish economy as a whole.
The analytical framework enabled the evaluation of direct and indirect transmission channels associated with international trade and economic interdependencies, strengthening the capacity of the Secretariat of State for Trade to assess the economic consequences of international trade shocks and policy measures.
