Project description
The project aimed to identify and analyse the activities carried out by the Area of Economic Promotion and Tourism of the Municipality of Getxo and assess their contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study sought to establish an updated assessment framework on how the Area’s activities align with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda and support sustainable local development.
The main outcome of the project was the preparation of a report providing an updated analysis of the contribution of economic promotion and tourism activities to SDG implementation, together with a set of recommendations addressed to the different actors within the Area of Economic Promotion and Tourism. The results of the study were intended to support the design of future initiatives more closely aligned with the SDGs and their benefits for the citizens of Getxo.
The analysis was carried out through a participatory process structured in four phases, including project inception activities, consultations and focus groups with technical experts and political representatives from the Area of Economic Promotion and Tourism, interviews with political officers, and the preparation of the final report.
